About this role
Do you want to work in nephrology in a safe and developing environment? At our dialysis clinic in Karlstad, you'll work in a dedicated team where patient focus, technology, and team spirit are at the center.
Your Workplace
Welcome to the Nephrology Clinic and our excellent dialysis clinic at Karlstad Central Hospital! The facility is part of the medical specialties area. We are a fantastic team in need of additional colleagues. Here, you'll work in a pleasant work environment with stimulating tasks and opportunities for skills development. We are currently seeking a nurse for a permanent position and four nurses for temporary positions.
The dialysis clinic has a total of 22 patient spaces where patients receive kidney replacement treatment (hemodialysis), plus 6 patient spaces in the self-dialysis unit where patients perform part or all of their dialysis treatment independently (self-care). Some patients, after training at the self-dialysis unit, perform their hemodialysis treatment at home.
Our working hours are Monday-Friday, day (07:00-15:30) and evening (11:30-20:00), and Saturday-Sunday day (07:30-15:30).
Your Responsibilities
As a nurse, you will lead and be responsible for hemodialysis treatments, plan and organize daily operations, and be the primary contact for patients regarding rounds and sample collection. Nurses and nursing assistants work in teams around patients, providing mutual support. The dialysis clinic has both planned and emergency services. Most patients have chronic kidney failure and require hemodialysis several times a week. Staff develop close relationships with patients. Since the work also involves handling technical equipment, a certain technical interest is beneficial.
Onboarding is individually tailored over 10-12 weeks, with two main supervisors.
Skills and Competencies
We are seeking a licensed nurse. Previous experience in nursing or dialysis is considered meritorious. We also appreciate a technical interest.
Personally, we seek someone who adapts easily to changing circumstances and is confident, stable, and self-aware. You enjoy teamwork, as collaboration is a significant part of the job. We want someone with a positive attitude towards work and the overall operation, able to see the bigger picture. Great importance will be placed on personal qualities.
