About this role

Skaraborg Hospital (SkaS) operates in several locations in Skaraborg, including Falköping, Lidköping, Mariestad, and Skövde. We provide specialist healthcare across approximately thirty specialties and work together to support patient health throughout their lives, offering comprehensive and secure care. Every day and every hour, our employees make efforts that impact other people's lives. We care about those who make a difference for others, and together we are creating the workplace of the future. Description The Emergency Department in Skövde has undergone a major transformation, now featuring a state-of-the-art facility in large, bright premises perfectly adapted to our mission! Following the new construction, we can now call ourselves one of Sweden's largest and most modern emergency departments, with a potential patient flow of approximately 70,000 patients per year. A new pediatric emergency unit has been established in the new facility with a dedicated children's pathway! A new radiology unit is also adjacent to the emergency department. The Skövde Emergency Department is one of the region's five trauma hospitals. We handle patients in acute conditions, with most patients being fully treated directly in the emergency department, while some require continued care or contact with the hospital's various clinics. We receive patients with healthcare needs in medicine, surgery, orthopedics, urology, infection, pediatric medicine, gynecology, ENT, and ophthalmology. We now see that we need to expand our competent staff to meet the challenges ahead. Do you enjoy quick patient interactions? Do you like meeting many patients, both children and adults? Do you enjoy changing pace and adapt quickly? Do you want to make a difference for seriously ill people? Do you want to be part of a developing organization? If so, you could be our next team member! Qualifications We are seeking a registered nurse with at least one year of professional experience. Emergency care experience is meritorious. You excel at creating relationships and conveying security to patients during brief encounters. You enjoy working in teams with other professional categories while being independent within your profession. You interact with patients, relatives, and colleagues in a trustworthy and respectful manner and have tolerance for differences. You should be flexible and able to quickly switch between different tasks without compromising quality and patient safety. With a positive approach, you contribute to a good working environment. Job Responsibilities As a nurse in the emergency department, you will work with basic and specific nursing for patients with acute illness and/or injuries requiring specialized healthcare. Since patient care needs vary extensively, the work offers broad variety and significant development opportunities for nurses. You will work in a team with nursing assistants and doctors at the facility. You will constantly engage with various internal and external contacts, including other hospital units, public authorities, and other healthcare providers. As improvement work is crucial for the emergency department's development, it's important that you actively participate in such efforts. This also gives you the opportunity to influence work methods and your work environment. As a nurse, you will receive a structured introduction. The advertised positions are full-time and include day, evening, and night shifts. Want to join our development journey? Welcome to apply! Additional Information Newly graduated nurses will be part of the Clinical Base Year, our introduction program. The Clinical Base Year is mandatory and lasts throughout your first year of employment. It includes introduction days, supervision and training days, and observation days. The purpose is to create good conditions for newly graduated nurses to strengthen their theoretical knowledge, practice skills, and grow into their new profession. For nurses with foreign credentials, there will be a process to meet requirements for Swedish certification. The selection process and interviews will occur continuously during the application period. About Västra Götaland Region [Rest of the text about the region remains the same]
