At the Surgical Emergency Department in Lund, we provide highly specialized emergency surgical care. Our patients are those who have sought urgent care for surgical and/or gastroenterological symptoms, such as GI bleeding, abdominal sepsis, cholecystitis, pancreatitis, ileus, or appendicitis. We are also responsible for the monitoring and care of trauma patients who do not require intensive care or intermediate care, such as those involved in traffic accidents, gunshot or stab wounds, and falls. In many cases, these patients require urgent surgery and are therefore prepared promptly. JOB DESCRIPTION We work in interdisciplinary teams where nurses, nursing assistants, and doctors together are responsible for approximately six patients. The rehabilitation team supports care both at the patient level and administratively, for example, with the work in My Plans. There is also a pharmacist attached to the department who facilitates medication administration and ensures safer medication management. In addition to basic nursing care, we have the capability for telemetry monitoring and urgent gastro-/colonoscopy during on-call hours. In emergency situations, the department mobilizes quickly and is an important part of the care chain's preparedness. For optimal patient care, collaboration with other areas of operation, both within and outside the hospital, is central. Region Skåne is investing in increased professional development for nurses. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for a licensed nurse with authorization to practice within Swedish healthcare. Proficiency in Swedish at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s language scale is required. Previous experience as a nurse is an advantage.
