Welcome to apply! Are you looking for an exciting job in emergency care? Then you should apply to work with us! Warm welcome to a department nominated for Stroke Unit of the Year! Our Operations Department 85B1 is part of the neurology department. We work using evidence-based methods and place great emphasis on nursing care, care development, and research. The department has 15 care beds, divided into two care teams, for stroke patients. In addition, we have a "save the brain" team staffed by a nurse and a nursing assistant. In addition to standard admission procedures, we handle stroke patients directly from the emergency room according to the "Save the Brain" care chain, where you as a nurse monitor the patient and are responsible for administering blood-thinning medications when deemed appropriate. Stroke patient care aims to limit damage from acute brain infarction or bleeding. The healthcare staff's task is to monitor and compensate for the patient's potential loss of functions as the patient recovers from their stroke. Department 85B1 is characterized by solid interprofessional teamwork with nurses, nursing assistants, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, doctors, speech therapists, dietitians, and administrative staff. The national guidelines, Riksstroke, form the basis of the department's work, and our various competencies contribute to providing stroke patients with good, safe, and comprehensive care. A healthy workplace is important to us, so we have daily reflection sessions that enable monitoring of our work environment and continuous improvement of work methods and routines. Several development and research projects are simultaneously ongoing to improve patient care. We operate a clinical development department on behalf of Uppsala University.
