Are you a licensed nurse interested in specialized surgery? We are seeking someone who wants to help further develop the Hand and Plastic Surgery Department into a workplace that provides the best possible patient care through a person-centered approach.
The Hand and Plastic Surgery Department is located in Malmö and conducts highly specialized surgery. We receive patients from Southern Sweden, as well as national and international patients who need highly specialized surgical healthcare.
The department has 14 inpatient beds distributed between plastic surgery, breast cancer surgery, hand surgery, and ENT patients. We also have up to eight day surgery beds on weekdays for hand surgery patients. The department treats both elective and acute patients and has 24/7 emergency intake for hand patients. The hand surgery flow also includes children. The department has been part of the Magnet Project, and you will continue to have the opportunity to influence patient care and our working methods in an exciting and developmental way.
We work with nurses, nursing assistants, and doctors in teams together with occupational therapists, physiotherapists, counselors, and dietitians. The work group is divided into two teams for inpatient patients and one team for day surgery. We have a clinical specialist nurse or nursing leader on duty daily who works with staff as a resource in complex care situations. Additionally, there is support from experienced nurses and nursing assistants available as competence support. The department also has a coordinator who manages daily flow.
JOB DUTIES
You will work days, evenings, and weekends with common tasks as well as highly specialized preoperative preparations and postoperative care. At the department, we handle medical equipment, perform laser Doppler checks, and conduct needle treatments. We work in teams with a focus on holistic and patient-centered work. Nursing documentation is done in the Melior data system.
We have a high patient flow and offer various specialties, which provides you with opportunities for further development and new knowledge, but also requires you to be solution-oriented and flexible.
Beyond direct patient work, all staff members participate in building, developing, and improving care at the unit. We offer individualized introduction to ensure that nurses feel comfortable in their professional practice. You will be offered digital training during work hours, and regular lectures are held. For newly graduated nurses, there is also a clinical base year managed by Region Skåne.
You are engaged in your nursing profession and want to actively participate in the department's working methods and future development. You share your experience and competence whether you are new to nursing or have longer experience. At the Hand and Plastic Surgery Department, everyone is important.

QUALIFICATIONS
We are seeking a licensed nurse authorized to practice in Swedish healthcare. Swedish language skills at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale are required. Experience in surgical operations and knowledge of wound dressing are meritorious.
You take responsibility and have the ability to make independent decisions while valuing teamwork.
