The Psychiatric Clinic at Norrland University Hospital in Umeå is the largest psychiatric clinic in Norrland, with over 400 employees. We have three general psychiatric wards, a forensic psychiatric unit, and several specialized outpatient and treatment units. The Psychiatric Clinic is committed to providing equitable care for all and nursing based on research and clinical experience. The clinic operates in a newly built facility where the care environment is designed with the importance of promoting health in mind.
Ward 1 is a general psychiatric ward with 8 beds and 17 staff members. The ward cares for various patients, primarily for neuropsychiatric disorders and anxiety conditions. The ward collaborates closely with various outpatient clinics and treatment units. Patients are usually cared for under the Health and Medical Services Act (HSL), but care under the Compulsory Mental Care Act (LPT) is also part of the operations. We work according to a modified 3-3 work schedule model, which means you have a reduced weekly working time while maintaining a full-time salary. As a new employee in the region, you can join such a schedule model after 3 months.
We are currently seeking two nurses for Ward 1 at the Psychiatric Clinic who want to contribute to the development of psychiatric care for patients with eating disorders and/or neuropsychiatric disabilities and psychiatric comorbidity.
You will receive individual orientation based on your experience and skills, as well as supervision.
Within the Psychiatric Clinic, you have great opportunities for further education and to specialize in psychiatry.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a nurse with us, you contribute to taking good care of others and helping people feel better.
You guide and support patients in developing their own resources and managing the symptoms of their illness. You work in a team that, in addition to you, consists of the patient, nursing assistant, and physician. Your work as a nurse with us includes, among other things, collaborating with your team colleagues to map and identify specific nursing needs for individual patients and, based on that, planning the nursing team's acute interventions and measures, as well as evaluating these.
You will also participate in designing, implementing, and evaluating specific nursing strategies and, in dialogue with physicians, developing tailored treatment plans, working motivationally with various educational strategies, and compiling and evaluating these interventions.
Your work includes medication management and coordination. Together with your colleagues, you will be involved in the development work of the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for a licensed nurse. You have an interest in psychiatric nursing and want to help develop round-the-clock care. Experience in psychiatry is an advantage.
You should have good collaboration skills and the ability to make independent decisions. Furthermore, we expect you to have a good command of Swedish, both spoken and written, with a minimum level of C1.
