About this role
Are you a driven nurse who wants to feel like you're making a difference in your work? Are you passionate about working with people with dementia and cognitive impairment? Then this is the area you want to work in!
About the Position
As a nurse with us, you will have a key role in creating a safe, meaningful, and dignified everyday life for our residents. You will work closely with people and make a real difference – with both heart and competence. You will have nursing responsibility for a number of our residents, which includes guiding care, health, and medical tasks.
Together with an engaged team of nurses, occupational therapists, care staff, and unit managers, we work preventively to ensure good and safe care. We also collaborate with doctors and physiotherapists from the region. We always start from a person-centered and rehabilitation-focused approach where our residents' wishes and needs are at the center.
The positions have somewhat different focuses: nursing responsibility in the department, on duty to support OAS and cover during absences, nursing responsibility for patients with BPSD symptoms and frontotemporal dementia, as well as a position as nursing responsible at a dementia-oriented residential facility.
Here you have the opportunity to become part of an engaged and competent work group where your competencies and ideas as a nurse are utilized!
Example Tasks:
• Decide, implement, and follow up on nursing interventions
• Responsible for supervision and education in nursing
• Instruct and delegate health and medical tasks to care staff
• Contact and provide support to relatives
• Document in various quality registers and operational systems
• Participate and drive continuous improvement and development of our operations
About the Workplace
Our special housing in the Väster 1 area is located in the scenic part of Mellringe, with good bus connections and parking facilities. The three houses are located in an old hospital area within walking distance of each other, which provides good opportunities for collaboration between the houses.
Adrianska House is a specialized facility for people with dementia (BPSD, frontal lobe) and includes short-term and respite care with 48 places distributed across six different groups.
Elgströmska House is a dementia-oriented facility. We have 79 places, with 9 places for people with BPSD issues and 20 short-term places. We have a strong focus on zero vision work and person-centered care.
Löwenhjelmska House is a facility with a family-like atmosphere. Here are 56 apartments, half with a somatic focus and half with a dementia focus.
As a nurse, you will be part of the Health and Medical Care Organization (HS), where we gather all nurses and occupational therapists in the municipality's special housing under one organization. This allows us to create better conditions, equal care, and protect Örebro municipality's health and medical resources. For you as a nurse, this also means having a manager who is fundamentally licensed and thus well-versed in the issues you face at work.
