About the position
We are primarily a cancer surgical department with patients suffering from breast cancer, sarcomas, and endocrine tumors, but for just over a year, we have also had a patient category within endocrinology that makes our department even more exciting and provides more knowledge and skill development.
As a nurse, you will lead the care around the patient. You should be able to identify care needs and initiate appropriate measures. The work is stimulating and diverse, where you will encounter patients in various life situations, from acute situations to patients who are further along in their illness. Advanced treatments such as pain relief via epidural are included in the work on the ward. Infection treatments, management of central lines, handling of pain pumps, and various types of drainage are examples of tasks that occur in daily work.
To support all employees, both new and senior, we have a Clinical Nursing Leader (KLINO) who is an experienced nurse working to strengthen care and support employees in their work.
Breast cancer, endocrine tumors, and sarcomas are part of the Cancer Theme. We investigate, operate, and treat breast cancer, benign tumors, thyroid cancer, neuroendocrine tumors in the abdomen (NET), and soft tissue tumors. A significant part of the daily work involves pre- and post-operative care within highly specialized cancer surgery and care for patients with congenital endocrinological diseases. We are proud to be the sole practitioners in Stockholm County when it comes to endocrine surgery and soft tissue sarcomas.
The position is a permanent full-time employment. With us, you will work two shifts according to the 24/7 agreement, and the schedule is arranged according to a desired schedule with four periods spread throughout the year. If you are interested, there is an opportunity to work three shifts.
We are looking for someone who:
- Can contribute knowledge and experience to our daily work.
- Is curious and eager to learn new things and wants to enhance their expertise in several patient categories.
- Is empathetic and has good collaboration skills. You can also organize and prioritize your tasks in a workplace with a changing pace.
