About this role
At the stroke ward, we care for patients with acute stroke/TIA and subsequent acute rehabilitation. We also care for patients who have been operated on for stroke or tumor by a neurosurgeon. The ward has a small stroke clinic for follow-up visits and an external stroke team that continues rehabilitation and supports patients in their home environment.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a nurse with us, you will have a varied and exciting job that provides you with broad competence. You will be part of a team with good collaboration and strong team spirit. We work together with the patient in a multi-professional team consisting of nurse, nursing assistant, physician, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, speech therapist, dietitian, social worker, pharmacist, and medical secretary. You will be responsible for patient care and team leader for your care team, working closely with nursing assistants.
As a nurse with us, you will, among other things:
• Follow the care chain and actively participate in patient meetings
• Manage PEG/tube and tracheostomies
• Follow neurological status NIHSS and NEWS
• Participate in rehabilitation processes
• Participate in ward rounds with physicians
• Plan patient discharges together with the ward's care planners

QUALIFICATIONS
We are seeking someone who puts the patient in focus and has a genuine interest in people. You have a holistic view and work systematically with the ability to plan and prioritize your work. You easily collaborate with different professions and consider the organization's best interests, contributing to development and seeing opportunities in change. For the role, it is important that you are committed, patient, and flexible, as working with patients who have suffered brain injury is particularly challenging.
