About this role

We are a force that connects, holds together, and develops the county. Within Region Västernorrland, we are all part of something greater. The Specialist Psychiatric Care Team (SPOT) is a psychiatric intervention, treatment, and care initiative that is based on the patient being at home. The purpose of SPOT is to provide more individualized care and treatment interventions in an outpatient setting than what the outpatient services can offer, or where the need for inpatient care around the clock is no longer relevant. The goal of SPOT is to shorten the need for and duration of inpatient care for patients within the inpatient services and, if possible, to avoid hospitalization for patients where the regular psychiatric outpatient care is insufficient. The target group within SPOT consists of patients whose care needs exceed what the outpatient clinics can provide in the regular operations, but who are still not assessed to require 24-hour care. Here, outpatient interventions can facilitate and be a prerequisite for continued safe care at home. The mission for SPOT will be to work in a team together with treatment assistants, nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, and doctors. The staff works on behalf of doctors from inpatient care, outpatient care, and psychiatric emergency services.
