The target group for SPOT is patients in the Piteå General Psychiatry catchment area aged 18 and above, whose care level is beyond what standard psychiatric outpatient services can offer, but who are not assessed as needing 24-hour inpatient care. SPOT is available every day of the year.
Tasks in the SPOT team may vary but can include supportive conversations, behavior observations, medication follow-up, anxiety management, telephone follow-ups, working in resource teams for patients with complex issues, follow-up of patients from inpatient care, support for patients on leave, family conversations, collaboration with care neighbors and municipalities. SPOT works on assignment from doctors in inpatient or outpatient care.
SPOT is currently divided into three mobile teams with area divisions as follows:
Team 1, Acute team, collaboration with other emergency services (ambulance, police)
Team 2, Piteå – Arvidsjaur – Arjeplog
Team 3, Piteå – Älvsbyn
