About the position and us
The Rehabilitation Medicine Department at Södra Älvsborg Hospital is responsible for caring for, medically treating, and rehabilitating patients with predominantly somatic and cognitive disabilities acquired through injury or illness.
As a nurse with us, you will be offered individually tailored orientation in consultation with your manager, where we will adjust the duration based on your wishes and needs so that you can feel secure in your role. At our Rehabilitation Medicine Department, you will also have the opportunity to practice as an expert in nursing, as it involves both medical technical procedures and nursing alongside nursing assistants, where patient-centered care permeates everything we do.
The department has 10 beds for round-the-clock care. The patients are typically of working age who, after injury or illness, have disabilities such as traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, fractures from traffic accidents, MS, stroke, and rheumatological diseases.
We work in teams alongside doctors, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, social workers, speech therapists, and psychologists. The unit is a training care department and accepts nursing students in their fourth semester as well as students from the nursing program.
Working hours
Preferably day and evening shifts.
Your profile
We are looking for a registered nurse with at least four months of professional experience. Experience in rehabilitation medicine care is considered an advantage.
Since we work in interdisciplinary teams, it is important that you enjoy collaborating with various professional categories. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability, where the ability to work in a team, be responsible and meticulous, and have a good approach is fundamental to us. In the team, you take your own initiatives and see opportunities for development. You have the ability to see the bigger picture, are flexible, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
For us, it is important to meet both patients and their relatives based on their sometimes very challenging circumstances. This means that you have an empathetic demeanor and are both attentive and engaged in the development work of the team, department, and clinic.
If you are in your final semester of the nursing program or have less than four months of professional experience, we refer you to apply for our introductory programs. Read more about SÄS's introduction offer for newly graduated nurses here.
We warmly welcome your application. Please attach your license. We may conduct ongoing selection and interviews, so feel free to submit your application today.
