About Us
At the Medical Department, we care for patients with internal medical conditions, primarily gastrointestinal diseases, liver diseases, patients with newly diagnosed or poorly controlled diabetes, and elderly patients with multiple health issues who require a longer stay before discharge. We also have 2 rheumatology beds.
As a nurse in the department, you will be offered a varied, developing, and educational role. The department has 20 beds divided into three care teams. You will be responsible for approximately 7 patients per nurse, supported by 1-2 nursing assistants. The department also has four care leaders who act as mentors for less experienced nurses and work on quality development. The care leaders are also involved in daily operations and provide support during busy periods, which we consider very valuable.
We work with a nursing wheel and plan training sessions, lectures, and group discussions on various topics each month. The work is led by care leaders and a quality-responsible nursing assistant. Every Monday, we hold what we call a competence café, where we invite speakers and conduct short internal training sessions. Everything is planned according to the employees' wishes.
We have a discharge coordinator available during weekdays who contacts the municipality, works with Link, and is very helpful to nurses in preparing for discharges. We also have a coordinator during weekdays who sits at our reception, handling incoming calls, scheduling home travel, and booking transport for examinations.
For us, a good working environment is very important, and we continuously work on good communication, collaboration, and encourage individual development based on personal interests.
Your Responsibilities
Your duties will include nursing care, medication management, documentation, and assessment of acutely ill patients. You will identify and meet the individual needs of patients by leading and prioritizing the work within the team.
We offer you an orientation tailored to your skills and previous experience. The introduction for new nurses typically lasts 6 weeks but can be extended if necessary. We provide continuous professional development through, for example, lectures with doctors and opportunities to shadow other units within the clinic. As managers, we have a present and attentive leadership style, and we also engage in patient care and are happy to assist when things get busy.
Your Qualifications
You must be a licensed nurse. As a newly graduated nurse, our department is a great place to start, as you will gain a solid foundation for your future career. We are looking for someone who is responsible and patient-focused. You should have good collaboration skills, be flexible and engaged, and prioritize the patient’s needs. We appreciate curiosity about your profession and a passion for development.
