About this role
Helping people achieve better health is one of the most important missions one can have. At Södra Älvsborg Hospital (SÄS), we are 3,700 employees with 120 different professions who contribute to this every day. What role do you want to play?
Regardless of your role, we can offer you a meaningful, secure, and developmental job where you make a difference for others. Our employees often say that SÄS is a "just right-sized hospital" – it is large enough for professional growth and career advancement, yet small enough to foster a sense of community across departments. We have a forward-thinking spirit, and there are always exciting initiatives and research underway to improve care for our patients and meet future challenges in healthcare.

About our open position
At MAVA, we are building a sustainable work environment where both employees and patients come first. To strengthen our operations and enhance patient safety, we are now increasing our staffing around the clock.
With us, you will receive a secure introduction, guidance, and continuing education in a welcoming environment. You will have the opportunity to grow into your role as a nurse alongside the team. As a nurse in our department, you will work with a variety of tasks.
You will have the chance to engage in specialized acute care alongside competent doctors, nursing staff, and pharmacists. We place great importance on further development both internally and through universities. You will be part of a fantastic team where the sense of belonging is strong.
The position is a permanent employment. Working hours are scheduled from 6:45 AM to 4:00 PM and evenings from 1:45 PM to 10:00 PM, with duty on 2 out of 5 weekends. We plan individual schedules that are adapted to the needs of the operation with a 10-week interval.
About us
At MAVA, we currently have 24 care beds divided into three teams during the day and two teams at night. Starting January 1st, we will increase to 28 care beds and 4 teams during the day and 3 teams at night. Our care involves managing patients with expected short hospital stays. We care for patients with varying medical needs, ranging from young individuals to elderly patients with multiple health issues who have become acutely ill. MAVA is a great department for development, both for newly graduated and experienced nurses, and is a popular choice among students. A senior nurse is present during the day to support and develop our department.
MAVA has an Education Unit (UVE), which means we have a close collaboration with Borås University and receive 12 nursing students each semester. The students are supervised in pairs during daytime shifts.
