Our Operation
The Intermediate Care Unit (IMA) has about 35 employees and is the hospital's highest care level with 5 patient beds. The unit is focused on medical intermediate care and primarily treats patients with vital function deficiencies, which includes managing advanced medical equipment and inotropic medications.
The pace is varied with occasional high patient turnover, with an average care period of approximately two days.
Your Assignment
Your tasks involve nursing, monitoring, and treating patients with care needs that cannot be met in a standard ward. In addition to acute care, we also provide some planned activities such as cardioversion and inpatient heart failure treatment.
Together with an anesthesiologist, we staff the hospital's emergency response function. This means assisting other hospital departments in acute situations and occasionally reinforcing ambulance services during patient transport to nearby hospitals. As a nurse at IMA, you work alongside a nurse's assistant and are responsible for 1-3 patients, meaning there is truly time and opportunity to provide good and close care. We offer you a varied and stimulating job where you can utilize and develop within your competence area. You'll become part of a team while also being expected to work independently.
Your Qualifications
We are seeking a licensed nurse with specialized intensive care training, or a basic registered nurse with at least two years of experience in emergency/intermediate care.
Your Competence
We place great importance on personal qualities. You are responsible and contribute to good cooperation and a positive work environment. You can reprioritize quickly, enjoy pace changes and varied tasks. You are confident in your professional role and can make independent decisions in acute situations.
We Offer
We offer a permanent full-time position, with alternative work arrangements possible for discussion. We work on a rotation model with working time reduction and enhanced on-call compensation. Individual schedules are applied with shared responsibility for all hours of the day. Opportunities exist for basic-trained nurses to subsequently apply for specialized intensive care training with study salary from the employer.
We offer a tailored introduction based on previous experience. You are welcome to shadow our department to meet us and gain insight into the care we provide. Start date by agreement.
As a new employee at Lasarettet in Enköping, you'll receive a comprehensive and supportive career start. Beyond your workplace-specific introduction, you'll participate in our extensive new employee introduction week, KULE - Clinical Education Lasarettet in Enköping, offering an interprofessional approach. Here you'll meet and collaborate with colleagues from various professional categories.
For newly graduated nurses, we also offer an enhanced three-month introduction including reflective professional mentoring, shadowing, and coaching by our clinical adjunct. You'll also participate in practical training at our CTC (Clinical Training Center), a safe and supportive environment to practice and develop your skills.
We offer a dynamic and inspiring workplace where you can make a difference every day. We provide excellent career development opportunities with continuous further education and advancement within the hospital and Region Uppsala. We look forward to you becoming part of our team and making a difference in our patients' lives.
