About this role
In November, we are expanding the Infection Ward's care places. Now you have the opportunity to strengthen our team for the opening of an expanding infection department. Would you like to become part of a competent, driven, and wonderful work group? We are seeking those who have an interest in infectious disease care and nursing.
We are seeking a licensed nurse. We consider it meritorious if you have education in infectious disease care and/or experience working in an infectious disease ward. Knowledge of the medical journal system Cosmic is also considered a merit.
We place great importance on personal qualities. As a person, we see that you are structured and self-driven. You take responsibility for your task, can plan, prioritize, and organize your work efficiently, and ensure that you drive your processes forward. We also see that you have an empathetic ability to understand other people's perspectives, and you have a holistic view that allows you to consider the best interests of the operation in your actions and decisions.
At the infection ward, you will work as a nurse in a team together with experienced nursing assistants, doctors, and other professional categories – always with the patient in focus. The work group has a good cohesion where we support each other and highly value both development and job satisfaction. You are responsible for patient care with varying monitoring needs, in close collaboration with nursing assistants. Patients' care needs vary, which means a dynamic work pace and sometimes rapid changes in health conditions – no two days are the same. You lead and distribute work within the team and contribute, together with your colleagues, to a good work environment. With us, you will have the opportunity to deepen your knowledge about both infectious and non-infectious diseases. We care for patients with common diagnoses such as pneumonia and urinary tract infections, but also more complex conditions like hepatitis, malaria, and infections in heart valves, bones, and brain. You will develop expertise in transmission routes and healthcare hygiene and meet patients from around the world.
We offer you:
- A unique opportunity to be part of expanding our existing care ward to a larger scale
- A tailored and structured onboarding
- Internal training and other opportunities to deepen knowledge about infectious diseases
- A present and engaged manager
- Double compensation for work during inconvenient hours. An investment Region Norrbotten makes for employees in 24/7 operations, something that makes us unique among regions in Sweden
- This operation is part of Region Norrbotten's extra investment in nurses
- Clinical first year for new nurses to make work stimulating, developmental, and safe

- Health-promoting workplaces with access to wellness activities and wellness contributions
