About this role
Helping people achieve better health is one of the most important missions one can have. At Södra Älvsborgs Hospital (SÄS), we are 3,700 employees with 120 different professions who contribute to this every day. What role do you want to play?
Regardless of your role, we can offer you a meaningful, secure, and developmental job where you make a difference for others. Our employees often say that SÄS is a "just right-sized hospital" – large enough for professional growth and career advancement, yet small enough to foster a sense of community across departments. We have a forward-thinking spirit, and there are always exciting initiatives and research underway to improve care for our patients and meet future challenges in healthcare.

Working hours
Working hours are scheduled for daytime and evening shifts with service 2 out of 5 weekends. We plan individual schedules tailored to the operations with a 10-week interval.
About us
The Infectious Diseases Department is now expanding from 21 to 28 beds. We care for patients of all ages, from children to adults, with varying diagnoses covering all types of infectious diseases. We are a unit focused on innovation and new thinking. Our operations are characterized by a strong commitment to quality and patient safety, which permeates both daily work and continuous development. In our modern facilities, all patient rooms are single rooms with an anteroom both towards the department and outside.
The department is an educational care unit (UVE), which means we constantly strive to maintain a good learning environment for students. Supervising nursing students and nursing assistants will therefore also be an important part of the job after you have been professionally active as a nurse for one year.
The operational area consists, in addition to an infectious diseases department and infectious diseases outpatient clinic with needle exchange, of an eye unit, a care hotel, and a dermatology/sexual health clinic. Our mission is to provide good and safe care to all our patients. Our work is characterized by a focus on quality, participation, and patient safety. We work on continuous improvements to minimize unnecessary waiting and complications. We aim to get it right from the start.
Your profile
We are looking for a licensed nurse with a few years of experience who is interested in working with us. Previous hospital experience is required for the position. You have a positive attitude, the ability to work across boundaries, and are independent. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability, such as good interpersonal skills, teamwork, and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
If you are in your final semester of the nursing program or have less than four months of professional experience, we refer you to apply for our introductory programs. Read more about SÄS's introduction offer for newly graduated nurses here.
