About this role
Make a difference. Every day.
Do you want to work in a highly specialized department with a focus on the patient? If so, apply today to the Cardiology Department and Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (HIA)!
Many of our staff have extensive experience in cardiac intensive care, and with their solid expertise, we are ready to welcome both experienced and newly graduated nursing colleagues. The department includes both cardiac intensive care beds, cardiac beds, and elective services. The Cardiology Department in Helsingborg has the acute mission for northwestern Skåne.
With us, patients with acute myocardial infarction, acute coronary syndrome, severe heart failure, and life-threatening cardiac arrhythmias are cared for. HIA is a highly specialized unit where we care for patients who are complex from both a medical and nursing perspective. In the department, we perform, among other things, exercise tests, electrical cardioversion, transesophageal ultrasound, and twice a week we have pacemaker insertions. Some of the staff with special expertise have certain shifts allocated to coronary angiography (PCI). The staff working in the cardiac intensive care unit are part of the team that responds to life-threatening conditions in the hospital's emergency chain. The department also includes BMA, biomedical analysts specializing in ECHO.
We strive for a good working environment and continuous professional development. Both management and employees take responsibility for each other and for their work environment. After some time with us, you will be equally comfortable receiving a patient directly from the ambulance stretcher with an ongoing heart attack, as well as providing meticulous specialized care to a highly unstable heart failure patient awaiting a heart transplant.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The department has a total of 24 care beds. We need to recruit more nurses and therefore look forward to welcoming you to our team!
As a nurse in the Cardiology Department/HIA, you will work in a team alongside nursing assistants and doctors. In our cardiac beds, you will be responsible for approximately eight to nine patients, and in our cardiac intensive care beds, three nurses work across eight care beds. We offer you a varied job focused on heart disease patients. Your responsibilities will include arrhythmia interpretation, interpretation of EKGs sent in from ambulance services, exercise tests after training, medication management, nursing tasks, and ward rounds.
For us, education is an important part, and you will receive various professional development opportunities through external and internal training. For example, you will complete a mandatory A-CPR training with scenario training once or twice a year.
When you start here, you will receive a tailored introduction that includes both theoretical and practical guidance. The goal is for you to feel secure and comfortable in our unit. We offer you excellent opportunities to develop and deepen your knowledge in cardiac care. The introduction lasts from four to seven weeks, and if you are a newly graduated nurse, you will also be part of Region Skåne's clinical foundation year.
