The Eye Care Unit operates in both Malmö and Lund. We are at the forefront of both basic and specialized training. In addition to meeting the needs of residents for eye care in Lund and Malmö, we also provide regional healthcare for Halland, Kronoberg, and Blekinge.
We have approximately 250 employees, including 10 colleagues in the day surgery eye clinic, where we receive both children and adults of all ages. In our highly specialized eye care, we perform diagnostics and surgeries related to the retina, cornea, strabismus, tear duct surgeries, and more. The surgeries are performed under both local anesthesia and general anesthesia.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Welcome to us at the Day Surgery Eye Clinic in Lund!
In the role of nurse, you will work in a team with nursing assistants and/or nursing colleagues. Here, we care for patients pre- and post-operatively in connection with surgery, and there is some outpatient activity involved in the position. Through continuous development work and a wholehearted focus on each individual, we strive to provide our patients with the safest and highest quality care. We recognize the importance of good mentorship and invest in on-site training to create the best possible learning environment for our employees. We offer individual orientation for six to eight weeks and internal training for our new hires after you have been employed for a few months.
The working hours are primarily scheduled during the day, Monday to Friday. One day a week, the afternoon shift is scheduled between 10:00 AM and 7:00 PM. Additionally, you will participate in eye emergency services during one to two Saturdays per year, with working hours on those days from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, where you will work alongside the eye emergency team and nursing assistant to receive patients needing urgent examination. You will also handle incoming calls from other departments together with the eye emergency team.
QUALIFICATIONS
We welcome you who are a licensed nurse with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. Proficiency in Swedish at least at C1 level according to the Council of Europe’s language scale is a requirement for the position. Furthermore, we prefer that you have several years of experience working as a nurse. It is advantageous if you have further education in eye care, as well as previous experience in ophthalmology. Experience in day surgery operations is also a plus. Additionally, familiarity with systems such as Melior, Orbit, and Pasis is considered beneficial.
