About this role

Make a Difference. Every Day. The Clinical Immunology and Transfusion Medicine (KIT) operational area operates at 10 hospitals in Skåne and has over 200 employees. The organization is responsible for laboratory activities in clinical immunology, transfusion medicine, and transplantation immunology, as well as blood donation in Skåne. KIT's mission is to provide Region Skåne's healthcare with high-quality blood components for managing acute and chronic conditions. The organization is accredited, with certain activities centralized in Lund. We are organized into processes with unit managers, medical directors, and process leaders working in close collaboration. At the Kattesund Blood Center in Lund, ten employees work together. Our workplace is centrally located in modern facilities, with easy access to lunch restaurants and shops, and a vibrant atmosphere with constant foot traffic. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES We now have the opportunity to welcome a biomedical scientist or nurse to our team! As a biomedical scientist/nurse with us, your tasks will be varied, including working with blood donors, reception work, and approving donors before blood donation. You will be responsible for blood donation and monitoring the donor's overall condition during and immediately after donation. The primary location is Lund, with some rotation to the Triangeln Blood Center in Malmö. At Kattesund in Lund, we conduct Skåne's apheresis donation for plasma and platelets, which offers a development opportunity to learn after standard blood donation. Recruiting new blood donors is of great importance to our organization, and we naturally expect your interest in participating in various events/marketing campaigns and seeing the personal interaction with potential new donors as a challenge and positive aspect of the work. You will also participate in organizational development and in mentoring and training students and new colleagues. Your work hours will be weekdays during day and evening shifts, and every third Saturday from 9:30-14:30. QUALIFICATIONS Candidates must be licensed biomedical scientists or registered nurses authorized to practice in Swedish healthcare. Swedish language skills at least equivalent to level C1 on the Council of Europe's scale are required. We are looking for someone interested in working with blood donors, and previous experience in a blood center or similar setting is considered advantageous. We seek candidates who want to be involved and contribute to a positive social work environment. Personal suitability and social competence are crucial for this position. We value traits such as collaboration skills, flexibility, service-orientation, and communication abilities. Feedback is important to us, and we believe in everyone taking responsibility for workplace satisfaction. We operate on our team/service promise: We create a good day!
