Job Responsibilities
After your introduction, you as a nurse will have the opportunity to develop over time in tasks consisting of qualified care, emergency treatment, and intensive care for sick and premature newborns. You will meet children with varied care times and needs, where no two days are alike. You will support new parents in their process of getting to know and bonding with their new family member. You will work in a team with childcare nurses and doctors, where collaboration within and between teams is crucial. As a new nurse, you will always have an experienced colleague available.
The introduction consists of 8-10 weeks of on-site training, where you initially learn the basics of neonatal care and then develop to take independent responsibility as a nurse. You will also attend the department's own 4-day introduction training. Newly graduated nurses are also offered Region Västmanland's general introduction training.
Scheduling is individually and operationally adapted in TESSA, and we work according to Region Västmanland's work time model.
About the Workplace
The Pediatric Clinic is like a small hospital within a larger one. Here, we have all the expertise a sick child might need. We take care of children and their families, and we take care of each other – because we know we do a much better job together.
The ward cares for sick newborns and premature children from week 28. Approximately 400 children are treated annually in the 10 care beds, including 3 intensive care beds. Care is family-centered, and children are co-cared with their parents. For a smooth transition home, we offer Discharge Reception or Home Care. We collaborate closely with the Women's Clinic, which cares for newly delivered women in our ward. The facility operates in modern premises with multiple single rooms, enabling enhanced co-care and a good work environment. Our team includes childcare nurses, nurses, pediatric nurses, doctors, and paramedical professionals.

Qualifications
We are seeking a licensed nurse. Specialization in pediatric healthcare or experience in neonatal or pediatric care is merit but not required. Newly graduated nurses are also warmly welcome to apply.
You are stable and calm in stressful situations, maintain a realistic perspective, and focus on the right things. You have empathetic abilities to understand others' perspectives without taking on their emotions. You are flexible, adaptable, and can effectively plan, organize, and prioritize work with excellent collaboration skills. Personal characteristics are highly valued.
Employment Terms
Three permanent positions. Day/evening rotation including night shifts, 100% with time valuation model.
Region Västmanland has a local collective agreement regulating night work to 32 hours/week. The position involves shared responsibility for staffing throughout the year and all hours of the day.
