About this role
Do you want to work in a department that focuses on nursing with close collaboration where flexibility and openness are valued? We are a large department, which gives you the opportunity to further develop your skills, and you may have the chance to explore more of our various healthcare areas.
The VO Care represented Södertälje Hospital in the Magnet4Europe study, and we are now continuing to work with the magnet model to enable a good work environment and nursing development.
With us, nursing assistants and nurses work together, and the department is also led by nurses. We provide care in several different areas such as internal medicine, surgery, orthopedics, geriatrics, and palliative care. We have a total of 360 staff distributed across nine care units and ASIH, currently offering 173 care beds.
Nurse for Ward 19 at Södertälje Hospital:
Are you interested in acute care and want to be part of a team that works in a fast-paced and dynamic environment? In this ward, we combine orthopedics, urology, and 6 beds within AVA, which is currently run as a project in our department.
Here, we work in teams with nurses, nursing assistants, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, doctors, and the discharge team. We have clear routines and a well-functioning work approach that enables us to provide high-quality care and create a good work environment. With us, you will have a varied workday and the opportunity to develop both in your professional role and by contributing to the unit's development work.
In our department, we care for patients in orthopedics, urology, and elective surgery. In the orthopedic flow, we treat patients with fractures, while in urology, we handle acute cases such as hematuria and urinary tract infections. We also have a significant amount of elective surgery, where patients undergo planned operations in orthopedics and urology. The department has a total of 24 care beds, of which 6 are specifically designated for patients who need intensive and rapid acute care for a short period, up to 48 hours. This part of the operation involves a high pace and variation in tasks, where you will have the chance to work with patients from different medical areas, including orthopedics, urology, gynecology, medicine, and surgery.
It is important to us that you feel secure in your role; therefore, we offer a personalized onboarding process to give you the best start in your new position. If you are a newly graduated nurse, you will receive a secure introduction and guidance, as well as a mentor who will support you during your initial time in the department. You will also have the opportunity to participate in our program for newly graduated nurses, which combines skills training, lectures, and group discussions.
