About this role

Hey, we're looking for an eighth colleague to join our seven nurses! About Us Department 131, part of Psychiatry Northwest, is a general psychiatric care unit located at Danderyd Hospital, just 12 minutes from central Stockholm. The department offers treatment and care for patients aged 18-65 who primarily suffer from depression, anxiety, personality disorders, suicidality, and self-harm behaviors - but also treats patients with other conditions. The department has a total of 15 care beds, including one for voluntary admission and four beds within the framework of national specialized healthcare for difficult-to-treat self-harm behavior. Due to our dual mission, we have a lower patient number and higher staffing for both nurses and nursing assistants. We are a helpful team that enjoys working together and receive regular supervision to provide extra support for challenging situations. Work Responsibilities As a nurse with us, you will work in a team with nursing assistants, doctors, psychologists, and paramedical staff. You are expected to lead nursing work, which involves assessing care needs, planning and executing primarily psychiatric, but also somatic nursing interventions. The work is varied, but a typical day almost always includes support conversations, medication management, contact and coordination with care neighbors and relatives, and more. We use Take Care as our journaling system. Professional Development Professional development is important to us. In addition to mandatory training, all our staff are offered 8 days of training on self-harm behavior and DBT. As a specialist nurse, you have the opportunity to utilize your expertise by holding a functional role in various areas of responsibility. For those without specialist education, there are opportunities to broaden your competence, for example through courses at the Center for Psychiatric Research. Qualifications and Personal Characteristics You should be a licensed nurse. Previous experience in psychiatric inpatient care or other settings where you have encountered individuals with psychiatric issues is desirable. Specialist education in psychiatry and/or experience with DBT is meritorious but not required. We are looking for someone with a genuine interest and commitment to our target group who can remain calm in emotionally challenging situations. You should be confident, stable, and have good collaboration skills. We seek someone flexible in prioritizing, planning, and executing tasks to manage a varied work pace and meet our patients' diverse needs. You should be clear in your leadership role and delegate tasks clearly and fairly. We appreciate candidates with an interest in change and development work who can contribute creative ideas and take responsibility for advancing these in consultation with colleagues and management. About the Position in Brief - Permanent full-time employment (38:15 hours/week), with day, evening, and 2 of 5 weekend shifts - Individually tailored introduction - Opportunity for functional roles for specialist nurses with a salary supplement of 2,500 SEK/month - Flexible hours, wellness hour, and wellness allowance of 5,000 SEK/year - Retention bonus = after one year of employment, an annual time bank of 40 hours that can be used as time off, money, or additional pension contribution Interested? Apply with CV, cover letter, and certificates. A 6-month probationary period may be applied. We conduct rolling interviews in this recruitment process. Warmly welcome to apply! The position will be filled subject to no internal redeployment being necessary, according to current regulations.
