The psychiatric emergency department in Lund consists of over 30 staff members, all collaborating to provide the best care and quality of service to our patients. The emergency department is open around the clock and is responsible for urgent psychiatric assessments as well as telephone advice to patients, relatives, healthcare partners, and authorities. Our catchment area includes the residents of central Skåne.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
We are now welcoming a nursing colleague for shifts during the day, evening, and weekends.
In the role of a nurse, your primary responsibilities will include making assessments and decisions regarding the patient's care needs. As support in your decisions, you will have the triage system RETTS and the triage handbook, as well as the opportunity to consult with other nurses and doctors. Your tasks will also include telephone advice, psychiatric and somatic care, as well as urgent medical interventions. You will also collaborate closely with healthcare partners and authorities such as the police, correctional services, and social services.
The tasks are often varied and exciting as you uniquely encounter the full spectrum of mental health issues in different phases. You will become an expert in patient interaction and will have time for each patient. There is also the opportunity to take on various areas of responsibility and have roles such as fire and safety representative, environmental representative, influence representative, ethics representative, or child representative.

Internal training is continuously provided to enhance skill levels and streamline care work.
QUALIFICATIONS
We welcome you who are a licensed nurse with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. Proficiency in Swedish at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale is a requirement. If you are a specialist nurse in psychiatry and/or have experience working with patients with mental health issues within psychiatry, this is considered an asset. We also welcome those who are new to the profession and have an interest in psychiatric care.
Regarding personal qualities, we appreciate flexibility, engagement, drive, and a positive attitude towards improvement and development work. You are confident, resilient under stress, structured, and meticulous in your work, with an empathetic approach towards our patients. The job requires the ability to switch from a fast-paced environment to a more calm pace and vice versa. We believe that you view collaboration as a prerequisite for doing good work and contribute to a positive atmosphere within the team. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
