Heart Center in Umeå aims to create the best care for heart patients in northern Sweden. We provide highly specialized cardiac care and have overall responsibility for the county's patients.
Heart Center includes Cardiovascular Outpatient Clinic, Thoracic Surgery, Cardiology, PCI Lab, Arrhythmia Unit, Clinical Physiology, and Cardiovascular Genetics Center. We investigate, treat, and operate on patients from the entire northern region with heart, lung, and coronary vessel diseases. By collaborating across boundaries, maintaining efficient care chains, continuously improving, and employing competent staff, we can offer extremely high-quality care. We have approximately 400 employees at the Heart Center.
Our Thorax Ward has 50 employees working as nurses, healthcare service staff, and nursing assistants, collaborating around patients. We provide specialized care for patients undergoing heart, vascular, and lung disease surgeries. Patients are cared for both before and after surgery, with 18 care beds. Thorax has regional responsibility, meaning patients come from the northernmost counties, with over 1,000 surgeries performed annually.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a nurse with us, you contribute to taking excellent care of others and helping people feel better.
Work involves patient care, documentation, medication distribution, vital parameter monitoring, etc. Working together with other care staff in a patient-safe manner, you will work both independently and collaboratively. The role also includes contributing to development work and student supervision.

At the Thorax Ward, we care about personal development, offering training through theme days, internal education, and opportunities for rotation to intermediate care units and intensive care nurse internship programs after a period of work.
QUALIFICATIONS
We seek a licensed nurse or someone in their final semester of nursing studies. Previous experience in cardiac or surgical care is valued but not required.
We are looking for someone with excellent collaboration skills. We expect you to be independent, structured, and able to prioritize tasks. Good communication with patients and colleagues is crucial. Here, you contribute your expertise to help us find effective solutions for our department.
