Job Description At the surgical reception, nurses, nursing assistants, administrative staff, and doctors work within the various sections. As a nurse/stoma therapist, you will have your own clinic for patients who are to receive or have received a stoma. You will also meet patients with complicated wound dressings and enterocutaneous fistulas. The patient group is diverse in terms of both age and diagnosis. In your work, you will have significant contact with patients both by phone and during physical visits to the reception. In addition to the outpatient work, you will conduct consultations in the wards throughout the hospital regarding stomas and certain wounds, and you will also have an advisory role towards home care, health centers, and home services/special accommodations. The stoma reception also provides training on stoma and certain wound care in the wards and in the nursing education program. The work at the stoma reception is independent, and you will have a lot of personal responsibility, but it also involves collaboration with nurses, nursing assistants, and doctors in other units regarding patient planning. About You You are a licensed nurse with experience in the field and are accustomed to making your own assessments. Further education in surgery or if you are a stoma therapist is an advantage. You are committed and have a strong interest in working person-centered and can collaborate with different professions for the best interest of the patient.
