About this role
Together, we are developing Sahlgrenska University Hospital for a sustainable future. We are transforming healthcare with the goal of becoming Europe's leading university hospital by 2032. Together with our patients, we work towards quality, accessibility, patient safety, research, education, and innovation – within a cohesive healthcare system in the Västra Götaland region. Our vision and goals aim for care of the highest quality, where the patient is always at the center. We provide healthcare locally and regionally, as well as highly specialized care to patients across the country and abroad. Our employees are our strength, contributing to knowledge exchange both nationally and internationally. With digital tools and new working methods, we can simplify daily operations at the hospital and offer modern, accessible, and efficient care of the highest quality.
**About the Organization**
Nordhemskliniken has been providing care for individuals with moderate to severe alcohol dependence for over 60 years. We are a clinic located centrally in Linnéstaden, Gothenburg, in a historic and welcoming environment where accessibility, safety, and competence are our cornerstones. We offer daily drop-in services where patients can seek care without a referral and collaboratively develop their care/treatment plan with us. We provide both inpatient and outpatient care, with our outpatient services being a crucial part of the patient's journey towards a sober and healthier life.
**About the Position**
As a nurse in our outpatient care, you will be a central part of the team surrounding the patient. You will meet many patients daily – both during scheduled visits and via drop-in – and play a key role in supporting, following up, and motivating patients in their change processes.
We are currently in the implementation phase of a new working method, clarifying the role of the primary care contact. This means that as a nurse, you will have a number of patients whom you will follow throughout the entire care process. You will plan care together with the patient, work on collaboration, and contribute to continuity and safety in treatment.
You will also participate in the daily staffing of various functions within outpatient care, such as:
- Receiving patients in our “pol room” for shorter follow-up conversations and medical interventions
- Sample collection and follow-up of alcohol markers
- Telephone advice and appointment scheduling
- Collaboration with doctors, therapists, and medical secretaries
The work is varied, independent, and team-based, with good opportunities to influence and develop working methods together with experienced colleagues.
**About You**
We are looking for a licensed nurse with a genuine interest in addiction care and people in transition. Experience in addiction care, psychiatry, or specialized training in the field is advantageous. You thrive in an environment where the pace can be high, but where every interaction is important. You are solution-focused, confident in your professional role, and value both collaboration and independence. Personal suitability is of great importance.
**We Offer You**
With us, you will become part of an experienced and dedicated team that is passionate about its mission. As we are on a journey of change, you will have excellent opportunities to influence how specialized care for patients with alcohol dependence will be shaped.
As an employee of Sahlgrenska University Hospital, you will receive, among other benefits:
- Wellness allowance
- Free healthcare
- Various employee benefits and professional development opportunities
At Nordhemskliniken, we work closely together – doctors, nurses, caregivers, therapists, and secretaries – and we cherish a warm and professional work environment where we support each other and learn from one another every day.
Do you want to make a difference?
Welcome to become a part of Nordhemskliniken – where competence, care, and collaboration lead the way to change.
**Meet Some of Our Employees - Sahlgrenska University Hospital**
As a newly graduated nurse, you will be part of the Clinical Foundation Year, which is our introductory program. The Clinical Foundation Year is mandatory and lasts for the first year of your employment with us.
