About this role
Curious about psychiatry and psychosis care?
Do you want to be part of an organization that is bold and person-centered? The Psychiatric Clinic offers rewarding and exciting clinical work, opportunities for broadening and deepening your skills, as well as a variety of development paths for all professional groups.
Our Offer
The Psychiatric Clinic in Linköping is a university clinic with many different services.
The clinic consists of outpatient and inpatient care, a detoxification unit, and an emergency unit. In addition, we have mobile services, including a mobile outpatient team and pre-hospital psychiatric mobility (psychiatric ambulance).
Our nurses are eager to develop, and the clinic has therefore invested in strengthening nursing competencies. In recent years, we have allowed our nurses to take responsibility and lead the development of nursing, working to ensure that the latest research is understandable and applicable in our clinical everyday life. We have been working with a recovery-oriented approach for some time now, and we see how care has shifted from a more traditional approach to being driven by an increasingly flexible and person-centered care model where the patient's experience and needs are always our starting point. This, in turn, makes everyday work more meaningful and developmental.
As a nurse with us, there are excellent opportunities for growth and career advancement within the clinic. You will be offered both internal and external training, such as communication training. There is also the possibility of paid further education to become a specialist nurse in psychiatry—a step we are happy to support you in.
Here you can read about our career ladder for nurses and also about your benefits with us.
Job Description
We are currently seeking a nurse for our inpatient ward S-90, focusing on psychotic disorders, such as schizophrenia and delusional disorder. Here, individuals are cared for in various phases of their illness—from newly diagnosed to long-term conditions, often with comorbidities with other conditions or diseases. As a nurse in psychosis care, you play a central role in both stabilizing and supporting the patient in their recovery process. You will have a leadership role in the nursing work, where the relationship with the patient is the foundation for meeting individual needs based on their unique life situation.
You will work closely with the patient and build trusting relationships through conversation and presence—relationships that promote trust, participation, and recovery. The work is team-based, and you will be responsible for the daily nursing tasks, which include medication management, participation in rounds, reporting, and collaboration with other care providers.
We work creatively and resource-focused, with the patient's skills at the center. We use techniques, methods, approaches, interventions, and actions grounded in various areas of expertise. Here, you will have the opportunity to develop, contribute, and be an important part of a context where every interaction counts.
We value a good working climate with a focus on respect, safety, and community. We continuously work to create a safe and permissive work environment where the focus is on communication, reflection, and mirroring.
About You
We are looking for a licensed nurse with a genuine interest in meeting people in vulnerable life situations. Experience in psychiatric care or a specialist nursing degree is advantageous but not essential—we also welcome those who are new to the field. With curiosity, commitment, and the desire to do your best for the patient, you will develop alongside us.
As a new nurse, you will receive a personalized introduction and mentorship from an experienced nurse for as long as needed. We offer present leadership, and you will have support from your immediate supervisor, who is easily accessible within the department.
You have the ability to see both the patient's needs and resources. You are driven by a person-centered approach and value flexibility and creativity in nursing work. You thrive in an environment where you can use and develop your personal qualities and resources while contributing to the continuous development of our services.
