Oncology Department 1 is a care unit that treats all types of oncology diagnoses. Our patients primarily come from our own emergency clinics, but we also receive patients from the emergency department and other care units. We are currently in an exciting phase as the department undergoes several significant changes and has newly renovated facilities.
The area of operation (VO) for hematology, oncology, and radiation physics is responsible for non-surgical cancer care and research-based development in the southern healthcare region, serving a population of approximately 1.6 million residents. The area has outpatient and inpatient units in Malmö, Lund, and Helsingborg.
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are now welcoming a new nursing colleague for a rewarding job at our oncology department for night shifts.
As a nurse with us, you will work in a team alongside nursing assistants and doctors. On a typical workday, you will be responsible for the care of the patients in your team, as well as managing medical technical aids and medications. A characteristic of our department is that we often have a wide range of medical conditions.
We offer you an open and positive work environment with opportunities for both individual professional development and participation in the department's collective development efforts. We also regularly provide internal lectures and workshops to share and disseminate knowledge. As a newly hired nurse, you will receive a tailored introduction over six weeks where we teach you the fundamentals of oncology and chemotherapy, as we are aware that this is only superficially covered in most training programs. For those interested, we offer internal advanced training as well as opportunities for further education to become a specialist nurse in oncology.
QUALIFICATIONS
We welcome both newly graduated and experienced licensed nurses, with the qualification to practice within Swedish healthcare and an interest in oncology care. Language skills in Swedish must correspond to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's level scale. A specialist education relevant to the position is an advantage.
