About this role
Region Västerbotten works to strengthen good health and sustainable development. We take responsibility for equitable welfare and ensuring that research and innovation yield results.
Within the Healthcare Administration, primary care, dental care, and hospital care are gathered in a joint administration and organized into county and local healthcare areas. In the Skellefteå local healthcare area, this includes the Emergency Department, Medical and Geriatric Clinic, Rehabilitation Center, Psychiatric Clinic, 1177, Center for Operative Activities, and primary care in Skellefteå and Norsjö. Together, these will work to provide good and close care.
The Medical and Geriatric Clinic in Skellefteå is one of the hospital's largest clinics, with approximately 300 employees. We offer inpatient care in medicine and geriatrics, with most admissions occurring acutely via the emergency department. Outpatient services include medical, geriatric, and dialysis clinics, as well as day care and a physiological laboratory. The clinic also has a research unit - unique for a county hospital - which provides the opportunity to combine clinical work with research.
