About us The Oncology Day Care Unit is part of the Surgical and Oncology Clinic. The clinic is responsible for the investigation, treatment, and follow-up of patients with surgical, urological, and oncological diseases. Patients come both through the emergency department and via referrals from primary and specialist care. In addition to the Oncology Day Care Unit, there is also a Breast, Prostate, and Colorectal Cancer Center, a Surgical Outpatient Clinic, three inpatient wards, and a Clinical Research Unit. The Surgical and Oncology Clinic is one of the largest at the hospital, with around 300 employees. The Oncology Day Care Unit has 24 day care places, two short-stay places, and a PICC line reception. In day care, patients with breast, colorectal, and prostate cancer are treated. The PICC line reception has a hospital-wide mission. All units are open during the day, on weekdays, and are staffed by nurses. The day care unit is a well-functioning unit with employees who possess many years of experience and great competence; most nurses have specialized training in oncology. Procedures and working methods are designed based on patient safety, continuity for patients, and effective collaboration within the workgroup and the care chain. Your role In the Oncology Day Care Unit, you will work as a patient-responsible nurse, and your tasks will primarily include providing information and advice about oncological treatment, administering both chemotherapy and other treatments, as well as supporting patients and their relatives. Your responsibilities will also include follow-up of administered treatments and telephone counseling.
