Surgery and Urology, Inpatient Care Department A4 is an acute somatic care ward. Here, you will meet and care for patients in need of both urgent and planned postoperative care, focusing on upper and lower gastroenterology, thoracic surgery, vascular surgery, urology, ENT, and oncology surgical patients. We have 18 beds for patients who come to us acutely and six elective beds on weekdays. With us, you will experience variety in both pace and tasks, and you will have the opportunity to become well-rounded and specialized in acute somatic healthcare. Your Responsibilities As a nurse with us, you will be responsible for your care team and lead the nursing care of the patients. You will work together in a team, with a particular focus on the patient's condition, planning, and treatment. You are expected to have a person-centered approach, recognizing that each patient has unique needs and circumstances, where the patient's relatives are also an important piece of the puzzle and a valuable resource. Influence, participation, and job satisfaction are key words for your daily work, and we consider patient safety, collaboration, and communication to be essential components. In the department, you will primarily work with acute care, preoperative preparations, and postoperative care. Your responsibilities include managing peripheral and central access, sampling, monitoring and assessing NEWS2, fluid balance, tubes, drains, epidurals, and stomas. Pain relief and mobilization after surgery are also important tasks. As a new talent with us, you will receive an individually tailored introduction based on your skills and experience. Who Are You? We are looking for someone who enjoys working with person-centered care, is motivated by improvement work, and wants to create and develop our department and our ways of working. You should be good at collaborating with others and be willing to contribute to driving the operations forward together. You must be a licensed nurse, and it is highly advantageous if you have previous experience in inpatient care. It is important to us that you are driven by the desire to develop care/the unit with the patient at the center, as well as actively sharing your knowledge with colleagues and eagerly learning from their expertise. As you will be in constant dialogue with patients and colleagues, it is a requirement that you have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.
