About the Workplace The Palliative Consultation Team (PKT) is now organizationally part of the Oncology and Palliative Medicine Clinic, working comprehensively across Halland Hospitals and local healthcare, often in close collaboration with municipal home care services. There are 4 PKT teams located in Halmstad, Falkenberg, Varberg, and Kungsbacka. PKT Kungsbacka is responsible for specialized support for residents in Kungsbacka municipality. Our mission is to assist patients and healthcare personnel in both outpatient and inpatient settings with specialized palliative expertise. This can be in the form of consultations or taking full responsibility for implementing palliative medical care in more complex cases. The team offers medical, psychosocial, and existential support. PKT is also responsible for providing ongoing education in palliative medicine and care to medical personnel working directly with patients. The team consists of physicians and specialized nurses, working closely with counselors, psychologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, and hospital chaplains. Interprofessionalism is our strength! About the Work Your tasks will include working with patients needing specialized palliative care. The work involves support and advice via telephone, clinic visits, and home visits. There is an well-established collaboration with nurses in municipal home care services, who work most closely with patients and their families. Together with the team, you will support all medical personnel with consultative services, specialized expertise, and advice to local healthcare, inpatient units, and municipal home care services. In more complex cases, you will take full responsibility for implementing advanced palliative treatments and participate in care planning for palliative patients. Together with local healthcare, you will initiate palliative care at home and make targeted interventions where qualified medical expertise is required. The role also includes an educational mandate. We train nursing assistants, nurses, and physicians in municipal home care, local healthcare, and Halland Hospitals about general palliative care. Are you the team player we're looking for? Qualifications We are seeking a licensed nurse with experience and great interest in palliative care. A specialist nursing degree in palliative care or willingness to pursue this education is advantageous, as is experience in oncology or home care. As a nurse with us, you should be able to work independently with high commitment, drive the development of palliative care, and have the ability to teach and create stability in the workplace, providing security in teams and for patients and their families. High competence is required in pain management and other symptom relief, as well as good knowledge of psychosocial and family-focused care. We place great importance on personal suitability.
