About this role

Region Västerbotten works to ensure that good health and sustainable development strengthen each other. We take responsibility for equitable welfare and for ensuring that research and innovation yield results. The Center for Obstetrics and Gynecology (CFOG) Västerbotten is a regional organization with approximately 250 employees, including units at the three hospitals in the county that collaborate together. CFOG operates with a county-wide process orientation, and the hospitals in the region jointly ensure that people in Västerbotten have access to specialized maternity care, childbirth, postpartum care, gynecological outpatient care, gynecological surgery, tumor surgery, and robotic surgery. Based on scientific principles, we at CFOG work together for efficient workflows and are responsible for ensuring that the operations are conducted with the highest quality and in accordance with a defined operational plan. CFOG in Skellefteå has about 90 employees working within this area. Our focus is to offer comprehensive and high-quality women's healthcare, including services through gynecological outpatient care, childbirth, and postpartum care. We possess extensive knowledge and provide specialized care for pelvic floor issues, vulvar conditions, urotherapy, as well as endometriosis. In Skellefteå, we provide maternal healthcare, specialized maternity care, postpartum and gynecological inpatient care, and breastfeeding support for residents of Skellefteå and Norsjö municipalities, as well as infertility services for the entire county. We are now looking to strengthen the team at CFOG in Skellefteå with an additional nurse, for placement in maternity/postpartum and gynecological inpatient care. JOB DESCRIPTION As a nurse with us, you contribute knowledge and commitment that helps people feel secure. The workplace is a combined department with maternity services and a shared inpatient care unit for postpartum and gynecological care. As a nurse, you will rotate and primarily work in the inpatient department for postpartum and gynecological care. On the department, we work in teams around the patients. The team consists of nursing assistants, nurses, midwives, and doctors. For patients in postpartum care, the services may involve medical checks, recovery after childbirth, and support in parenting. The gynecological inpatient care primarily involves pre- and post-operative care, and to some extent, care for cancer patients and palliative care. In your role, you will work professionally and place the patient at the center of your focus. As a nurse, you will address patients' medical and specific nursing needs, as well as plan and prioritize the actions to be taken. You will collaborate with other nursing staff to create a good working environment and provide quality care. The job requires independence, problem-solving skills, and the ability to make ongoing decisions. In this role, you are expected to work two shifts - day, evening, and weekend. The job involves weekend duty for 2 out of 5 weekends, except during the period from June to August when weekend duty is scheduled for every other weekend. Three-shift work with night shifts may also be relevant in the future. We operate according to a working hours model with a wish schedule, which allows you as an employee to influence your working hours. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for a licensed nurse. Experience in postpartum, gynecological, and/or surgical care is an advantage. You possess good judgment, pronounced collaborative skills, and the ability to be flexible in your professional role. You relate to others in a responsive and smooth manner, where you listen, communicate, and resolve any conflicts constructively. Furthermore, you have good empathetic skills, valuing the patient's experience and needs while striving for professionalism. You are capable of working independently, seeing opportunities and solutions, and adapting to changing circumstances.
