Hospitals in the West is an administration within the Västra Götaland Region and consists of four hospitals – Alingsås Hospital, Angered Local Hospital, Högsbo Local Hospital, and Kungälv Hospital. Approximately 3,000 employees work with us every day to provide high-quality, excellent, and safe specialist healthcare. Description Psychiatry Operations at Kungälv Hospital consists of inpatient care, psychiatric emergency reception, psychiatric outpatient clinics, child psychiatry clinics, and specialized clinics for patients with eating disorder issues and patients with emotional instability. Ward 9 is an inpatient ward focused on general psychiatry, psychosis, and eating disorders, with 12 care beds and two user-controlled beds, where patients are largely responsible for their own care with staff support. Ward 10 is an inpatient ward focused on general psychiatry and dependency, with 13 care beds. The ward also conducts outpatient activities with medical detoxification and relapse prevention. The intention is to expand these services to offer more patients follow-up in more open care forms. Since spring 2024, we will be located in new facilities at Kungälv Hospital. We are seeking those who want to work in inpatient care with the described target groups. Job Responsibilities As a nurse, you are responsible for psychiatric care. The patient's care plan is the guiding document, and the patient should be involved in its creation. The care plan is then continuously evaluated throughout the treatment period. We work with shared decision-making and patient-centered care. Patients and relatives should be involved in care. We also have a responsibility to provide support and information to minor children and support patients in their parental role. The patient's team includes a nurse, healthcare assistant, doctor, ward social worker, and psychologist. Care is provided in collaboration with neighboring healthcare providers and social services. The approach is characterized by openness, responsible collaboration, and dialogue from the patient's perspective. The wards have a cognitive approach to their work. Work hours are scheduled for day, evening, and weekend shifts. Qualifications We are seeking a licensed nurse interested in general psychiatric care. It is beneficial if you have experience in psychiatric care, a cognitive approach, and experience with care plans. Your perspective should be characterized by compassion for people and good teamwork abilities. As a nurse, you will be part of continuous development work, currently focusing on further developing collaboration between nurses in Ward 9, Ward 10, and the emergency department. Our goal is to create a safe work environment with colleagues and nurses from other units. Interest in developing collaboration is expected. We place great importance on personal suitability. Clinical Base Year For newly graduated nurses/radiography nurses, a clinical base year is included during the first year of permanent employment. The clinical base year includes lectures, process-oriented nursing guidance, and practical training of your profession at the Simulation Center. This also involves shadowing other departments to gain a broader understanding of the hospital.
