SJ Götalandståg AB, which commenced operations on May 1, 2012, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of SJ AB. Together with our clients Västtrafik, Jönköpings länstrafik, and Hallandstrafiken, we aim to be an engaged community player that offers safe and reliable public transport journeys in Western Sweden under the brand Västtågen. Our services primarily operate in Västra Götaland but extend outside the region to places such as Örebro, Varberg, Åmål, and Nässjö. **About the Position**
As a train attendant at SJ Götalandståg, you play a vital role in providing passengers with a comfortable, safe, and pleasant journey. You serve as the first point of contact for travelers and represent Västtrafik on board our trains. The role includes:
- Delivering world-class service to our passengers to create a delightful travel experience on board.
- Taking responsibility for traffic safety both on board and during boarding and disembarking.
- Validating Västtrafik tickets and assisting with connections.
- Answering questions and providing clear information to passengers both in direct contact and via announcements.
- Occasionally acting as an information officer at various stations.
Working as a train attendant at SJ Götalandståg offers an exciting and varied role, allowing you to meet hundreds of people every day. You will collaborate with the train driver on board, and together with engaged colleagues, you will create added value for our passengers. We operate trains every day of the year, which means that the role of train attendant includes shift work, weekend duties, and overnight stays in other locations. Working hours may fall outside regular public transport schedules, and you need to be able to reach your workplace regardless of the time of day.

**Expectations for the Ideal Candidate**
You are a person with a strong sense of service and enjoy meeting new people. You must be able to work under pressure and handle conflict situations professionally. We expect you to have a high safety awareness, adapt easily to changing circumstances, and possess good teamwork skills. To be considered for the position, you need to meet the following requirements:
- A complete Swedish upper secondary education or validated according to UHR (Swedish Council for Higher Education).
- Proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written, as well as spoken English. Additional language skills are valued.
- A clean record with no entries in the Police criminal record database.
- We will ensure through a health examination that you meet the EU's health requirements for railways, which also includes random alcohol and drug testing as part of our operations.
**You Will Be Offered:**
- A comprehensive onboarding process where you will participate in a paid full-time training program for the first 6 weeks to provide you with the best conditions for the role. This training is primarily held in Gothenburg.

**Additional Information:**
- Start: Week 8, 2026
- Scope: 6 weeks of mandatory full-time training, followed by hourly employment as needed thereafter.
