About this role

The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements secure care for youth. We operate youth homes and facilities for adults with substance abuse across the country. At SiS, your work life will be an exciting challenge. SiS youth home Stigby on Visingsö accommodates around 30 young people and accepts non-compulsory school-age boys with psychosocial issues, criminal behavior, and substance abuse. We are divided into a MBB department (reception and needs assessment), four treatment departments, and we also have an aftercare unit in Jönköping. Job Description Do you want to help create life-changing differences for vulnerable individuals? Then the role of treatment assistant at SiS is a meaningful challenge. The goal of your assignment is to motivate our youth towards new and less risky ways of living. As a treatment assistant, you are employed to provide care and treatment. You contribute to ensuring that the routines in the department function as they should. You play a significant role in providing stability and security for our youth and are responsible for the foundation of daily life, including schooling, cleaning, cooking, and more. You help maintain order and safety in the institution according to our routines. Documentation is an important part of your work. You will work on building secure relationships and contribute to ensuring that our youth receive the safety and security they need to break old behavior patterns. Together with your team of dedicated colleagues, such as treatment pedagogues and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. Qualifications Your personal suitability is key to life-changing transformations. Therefore, you need to have a strong ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is having a solid positive view of humanity, great empathy, and the ability to build good relationships. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in stressful situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and are willing to share your knowledge with colleagues. You should also have: • At least a two-year post-secondary education from a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) or other education equivalent to this. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant field.* • Completed upper secondary education • A valid driver's license (B) • Proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written It is advantageous if you have: • Education and/or experience in care and social services • Experience working with our target group (youth care/youth treatment) • Experience from client-facing positions in the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, e.g., correctional officer • Security guard training At SiS, we value good employee relations.
