State Institutions Board (SiS) is a government agency responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for youth with complex psychosocial problems and adults with substance abuse. SiS also executes closed youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse, throughout the country. At SiS, your work life will be an exciting challenge. SiS Youth Home Margretelund receives non-compulsory school-age girls and boys with psychosocial problems, criminality, and substance abuse. We have operations in Lidköping and near Falköping. Job Description SiS Youth Home Margretelund consists of seven departments, five located in Lidköping and two in Falköping. The target group is high school-aged youth with serious psychosocial problems. At the turn of the year, Margretelund will expand and open an additional department in Lidköping. As a psychologist, you are an important part of our healthcare team consisting of four nurses and three psychologists. The team is led by the youth home's quality manager. Youth placed at SiS are taken into care according to the Care of Young Persons Act and care is typically provided in locked facilities. Placed youth often come from difficult social circumstances, with common issues including substance abuse, criminality, and serious behavioral problems combined with psychiatric challenges. As a psychologist at SiS, you work individually with assessment conversations such as screening, suicide risk assessments, or targeted mapping. You primarily work with support conversations and psychoeducation, though some conversation therapy may occur. Assessments are conducted within SiS student health services or according to agreement with the placing social worker. You are part of treatment teams for each youth together with unit manager, treatment secretary, treatment coordinator, teacher, and nurse, contributing a psychological perspective. In striving for an unbroken care chain for placed youth, the psychologist is crucial in collaborating with other care providers. You are often the first contact regarding mental issues experienced by placed youth and function as a support function for treatment staff in matters related to youth mental well-being. The psychologist's role at SiS is also consultative and educational, including work with trauma-informed care (TMO) and suicide prevention. In the nearby area, the newly started youth home Gudhemsgården exists, with which Margretelund collaborates closely. As a psychologist, you have proximity to psychology colleagues at each unit. Qualifications Psychology license or psychology degree (for supervised professional training). You are humble and easy to collaborate with. You communicate well verbally and in writing and are accustomed to taking responsibility for, planning, and delimiting your work. You can switch between different explanation models for youth difficulties and are well-versed in psychiatric assessment methodology and CBT-based treatment. Experience working with clients in locked environments and/or psychiatry is meritorious. Great importance is placed on personal suitability. At SiS, we care about good employee participation.
