Service Technician to perform ongoing, primarily preventive maintenance on mostly chip-fired heating boilers at customer sites. Capacity size ranges from 50 to 500 kW.
We are seeking someone with professional experience and an interest in mechanics combined with automated control systems. You should not be afraid to get your hands dirty, as the facilities may occasionally be in a warm environment. The work is highly independent, with most customers located on farms/rural areas across the dispersed geography of Småland, Skåne, and Blekinge, which means significant driving is involved, along with a good ability to carry what you need. There are 10-15 overnight stays per year, depending on how you choose to plan your work.
Some installation of new systems at customer locations is also included, along with customer visits to measure/plan placements. You will primarily plan your workday independently, although unexpected situations may arise requiring urgent attention or longer work hours than anticipated. Therefore, it is crucial to be open to changes in the workday and have the flexibility to return home later as needed.
In return, there are great opportunities to set your working hours as you wish. Unfortunately, it has proven to be challenging to combine this position with regular preschool pickups or participation in scheduled sports practices or half-days. However, it does work well to have a few long days and be extra free in between.
Qualifications:
• You must be unafraid to communicate with customers. You will handle the entire customer contact process from booking to follow-up after the job is completed.
• Welding skills are required, ideally in repair welding, albeit infrequently.
• Good mechanical knowledge of bearings, shafts, pullers, heating systems, etc.
• Electrical skills to replace components, motor connection boxes, circuit boards with connectors, etc.
• Capable of using a multimeter and unafraid of touch screens and computers.
• Basic English skills are necessary as we have foreign suppliers; German is a plus.
• A genuine interest in vehicles is preferred, as there are opportunities to work on your own vehicles in our workshop, which is equipped with lifts and a washing bay. We service all our vehicles in-house.
• Fluent Swedish, both spoken and written.
• Good physical fitness as some components can be hard to reach.
Location:
Vetlanda, Eksjö, or nearby areas.
You will have your own service vehicle for personal use, currently a Mercedes Sprinter.
We do not have an explicit on-call duty, and weekend work is rare but may occur occasionally throughout the year.
