The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is expanding – we are building new facilities, renovating, and adding on, and we are now seeking more employees. Our primary goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will be safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand facilities, and client transport.
Viskan Prison is a closed facility that began receiving inmates in March 2025. The largest professional group is prison officers, but we also employ healthcare professionals, administrative staff, educators, production leaders, and more. Inmates are engaged in education, various treatment programs, or industrial production. Viskan Prison is most easily accessed by car, and staff parking is available.
**JOB DESCRIPTION**
As a service technician at Viskan Prison, you will be responsible for operationally related system and property management, including the handling of locking systems and access control systems, the overarching alarm system of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, and fire alarm systems. Your duties will also include monitoring and troubleshooting the prison service's systems related to assault alarms, Rakel/radio communication, cameras, etc.
You will receive an introduction and close initial collaboration with the on-site service technicians to help you get started in the role. Collaboration will also occur with other service technicians within the Saltvik operational area.

Furthermore, you make sound judgments and priorities in your work and have a good understanding of the professional aspects of the job.

We are looking for candidates who have:
• A technical education at least at the high school level, with a focus on electrical or another area deemed relevant by the employer.
• Work experience as a security technician or equivalent work experience that the employer considers relevant.
• The ability to express oneself well in both spoken and written Swedish.
It is considered an advantage if you have:
• Experience and/or education in other security systems such as alarms, locks, electrical, telecommunications, and video storage.
• A B driver's license.
