About this role
The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing - we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and are now seeking more employees. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation services, remand centers, and client transportation.
The Operations Area (VO) Lindåsa will become a prison just outside Tollarp with approximately 112 places for men in security class 3.
The work will be led by a prison director together with 3 correctional inspectors. The prison will conduct extensive implementation and investigation work, while also providing valuable occupational activities such as gardening, kitchen, learning center, program activities, and packaging workshop. We will also place great focus on security work in the form of, for example, searches and relationship-building/dynamic security work.
A 6-month probationary employment may be applied.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a service technician, you will be responsible for maintaining buildings/exterior areas. The position includes contact with the landlord regarding property issues in accordance with a boundary list. Tasks include receiving, handling, and forwarding error reports in the aforementioned areas, as well as contact with external craftsmen and service companies. This also includes property management, which involves practical tasks such as mowing grass, snow removal, moving furniture, repairing cell furnishings, or escorting external craftsmen.
The position involves administrative tasks such as handling orders and invoices. Other tasks include operation-related property management such as maintenance and purchase of furnishings, cleaning, ground maintenance, and other operation-related tasks belonging to the Swedish Prison and Probation Service.
The position also includes planning client activities in the form of various service work related to your areas, in collaboration with other staff, and close cooperation with the prison's production manager regarding institutional production.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who is confident, communicative, and has strong social skills. We prefer someone who is driven, self-motivated, and takes great personal responsibility for assigned tasks. You have a strong ability to prioritize and plan your days.
Good collaboration skills and high service orientation are required as the position involves many personal contacts both within and outside the Swedish Prison and Probation Service.
Furthermore, you have good problem-solving skills and can take initiative. You also have an interest, willingness, and ability to help those around you.
Of course, you have a genuine interest in security work. To be comfortable and succeed in your assignment, it is important that you share the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's fundamental values of a humane view of people, respect for the individual, and belief in human development. Requirements:
• Complete high school education or other education combined with work experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems relevant.
• Work experience in property maintenance.
• Good Swedish language skills, both verbal and written.
• Good computer skills.
• Class B driver's license.
Meritorious:
• Post-secondary education, preferably in operations/maintenance or other education that the employer deems relevant.
• Experience in client-close work within the Swedish Prison and Probation Service or other work experience in the service.
• Knowledge of plumbing, electricity, welding, carpentry. Forklift certification.
