Service Technician for Property Management in Gävle

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and are now seeking more employees. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation services, remand centers, and client transportation. The Gävle operational area includes the closed Gävle prison, the open Gruvberget prison, and the Bomhus remand center. Our operations run 24/7, and the largest professional group is correctional officers, supported by approximately ten other positions to ensure our mission. At the Gävle and Gruvberget prisons, inmates are engaged in education, other structured activities, treatment programs, self-management, or in the work operations, which primarily consist of carpentry production. The Gävle prison and Bomhus remand center are easily accessible by public transport, while the Gruvberget prison requires access to a car. Staff parking is available. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a service technician, you are responsible for property management in accordance with the current demarcation list with the landlord and based on the local job description. The position involves close collaboration with prison staff, the landlord, and external contractors. Tasks include operation-related property maintenance such as troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance, as well as handling and addressing service requests from various prison facilities. Administrative tasks such as managing orders and invoices are also part of the role. You may also collaborate with security technicians during service and maintenance of locks, access systems, and other security equipment. We are seeking candidates who have: • Complete high school education or other education combined with work experience that the Prison and Probation Service deems relevant • Work experience in property management or property services (recent experience is particularly meritorious) • Good computer skills • Manual B driver's license • Good Swedish language skills, both verbal and written We consider the following as merits: • Education or courses with a property technology orientation • Experience with purchasing, ordering, and invoice handling • Experience with access systems and access card administration • Experience or knowledge of lock systems and security work • Experience working with small motors (e.g., garden or machine equipment) • Certification for wheel loaders and forklifts • Experience with Prison and Probation Service operations ADDITIONAL INFORMATION To be considered for employment with the Prison and Probation Service, you must meet high standards regarding suitability, judgment, security and confidentiality awareness, and compliance with applicable laws.
