For one of our customers in Gävle, we are now seeking a driven service mechanic who is motivated to keep heavy machinery in top condition to reinforce their team. We are looking for someone who wants to ensure the highest possible operational reliability in a dynamic port environment through professional maintenance and troubleshooting!
As a service mechanic, your primary work involves ensuring high operational reliability and availability of the port's machinery fleet. You work independently with maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. The work includes handling a wide range of heavy machines, including lifting equipment (mobile cranes, container cranes, etc.), handling vehicles (such as forklifts, wheel loaders, trailers), and other equipment (load plates and loading conveyors). You are also responsible for the equipment and perform ongoing maintenance and cleaning to ensure the highest quality. The role also includes proactively supporting the daily improvement and quality work. As a service mechanic, you work in a team where you collectively work to meet shared goals.
We are seeking a responsible and self-driven person who works systematically to achieve results. You are a solution-oriented and flexible team player with good communication skills. Additionally, you are meticulous, analytical, and always prioritize safety.
The assignment starts as soon as possible and is initially for 6 months, with very good chances of extension for the right person. Responsibilities
• Ensure high operational reliability and availability of the machinery fleet.
• Work independently with maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Actively participate in and support daily improvement and quality work.
• Responsible for handling, maintenance, and cleaning of instruments, equipment, and work areas.
• Participate in on-call or shift work as needed
Qualifications
• Vehicle technical education or equivalent work experience.
• Documented experience in vehicle/machine maintenance and repair.
• Basic ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems.
• Ability to read and understand technical documentation.
• Fluent Swedish in speech and writing.
• Hot Work Certificate.
• Crane and lift certification (or willingness to complete training).
• Basic knowledge of CE/machinery directives.
• Must pass mandatory security investigation to access the area.
Meriting Competencies
• Previous work in port, logistics, or heavy industry.
• Truck certification A-D, electrical safety training, etc.
• Familiar with digital maintenance systems and diagnostic instruments.
• English skills in speech and writing.
• Ability to troubleshoot DC electrical circuits and hydraulic systems.
