Assignment Description:
We are looking for a Senior System Engineer to join our dynamic team.
What you will work on:
• Play a key role in driving the transformation of Volvo Penta Technology and contributing to the evolution of the transport industry.
• Collaborate within the Motion Control team, responsible for global architecture, control systems, and functions across industrial and marine products.
• Engage in cross-functional collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including global development sites and suppliers.
• Develop, lead, and implement robust system solutions throughout the complete product lifecycle.
• Contribute to vehicle and vessel control development, focusing on automation solutions for marine and industrial segments.
• Drive conceptual development, verification, validation, and maintenance activities.
• Support the creation of innovative system functions and features that enhance customer value.
• Take responsibility for specification, testing, and implementation of new functions and solutions.
• Lead or support smaller projects and deliveries within the Motion Control domain.
• Ensure alignment between technical solutions, product planning, and software development teams.
What you bring:
• M.Sc. in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience in mechatronics, embedded software/system development, or Verification & Validation.
• Strong understanding of function and software development, test case creation (manual and automated), and use of System Weaver.
• Experience in rig development and maintenance, as well as knowledge of Volvo systems (KOLA, SW Configurator, PEA2+, Vodia).
• Ability to manage system-level design and integration, with a focus on logical functions and interface management.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Self-driven, structured, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively in multicultural teams.
• Passion for vehicle and vessel dynamics, with a proactive and curious mindset.
• Advantageous experience with Volvo Group development tools and user-centric development practices
