Job Description
Do you want to use your technical expertise to make a societal impact at the heart of the financial market? The Swedish National Debt Office (Riksgälden) is central to the state's economy, and we are now seeking a senior system developer for our System and Analysis Development unit. You could be the one we are looking for. We welcome your application.
This is a role for someone with broad technical experience who enjoys analyzing complex financial and mathematical issues—problems that you won't find anywhere else. Our IT operations are an integral part of our core mission, and due to extremely high security requirements, all our operations and development are conducted in-house. Here, you will be part of an agile team where you work closely with solution architects, requirements analysts, and testers to build systems characterized by openness, high internal efficiency, and quality.
Responsibilities
As a senior system developer with us, you will have broad responsibility across the entire development chain. You will work on everything from database-related implementations to frontend and secure integration. You have a very good understanding of software architecture and database modeling and are accustomed to working proactively to ensure good maintainability.
Your main tasks will include:
• Developing, testing, and troubleshooting systems, integrations, and APIs.
• Working broadly across the stack, from processing SQL data to frontend implementation (e.g., Razor, Telerik).
• Actively identifying and raising technical debt for prioritization with the management leader.
• Contributing your experience in software architecture and system design to ensure long-term solutions.
• Establishing and maintaining build and deployment management in Azure DevOps.
Additional Information
We welcome your application, which should include your CV, cover letter, diploma, and relevant grades. To ensure a fair and accurate assessment, it is crucial that you specify the year and month for each employment and provide a brief description of your tasks in your CV.
Please submit your application by November 28, 2025. Reference 2025/730 if you are submitting your application in a manner other than digitally via the Swedish National Debt Office's website.
We offer a permanent position with a six-month probationary period.

The Swedish National Debt Office offers generous vacation terms, the option to salary exchange for pension savings, wellness grants, wellness hours, and access to a gym at the workplace. All employees have access to their own workspace in the office, and we offer the possibility to work remotely 2.5 days a week if the work allows.
Financial Holdings
As an employee of the Swedish National Debt Office, you are required to report your holdings of financial instruments. To hold shares in a bank as an employee of the Swedish National Debt Office, special permission is required.
Security Classified Position
As an employee at the Swedish National Debt Office, you may be assigned to a military position based on the needs of total defense. Certain roles are classified, and Swedish citizenship may therefore be a requirement. A security clearance will be conducted before a hiring decision is made. If the position is classified, a background check will also be performed.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is professional, open, and confident in their role. You are a self-driven developer who takes responsibility for your tasks from start to finish. You are quality-conscious and possess strong problem-solving analytical skills that you are eager to share to help the team achieve its goals. With your holistic view, you understand how your technical choices impact the organization's important mission.
Mandatory Requirements
• Post-secondary education in Systems or Web Development.
• Deep knowledge and well-established experience in C#/.NET and can confidently and independently manage the entire development lifecycle in our business-critical systems.
• Very good knowledge and experience with SQL Server and database modeling.
• Experience with unit testing.
• Good command of the Swedish language and the ability to express yourself well, both verbally and in writing.
• Swedish citizenship.
Desirable Requirements
• Degree from a college/university in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent.
• Experience in the banking and finance sector.
We will place great emphasis on reliability and suitability for the position, as well as your personal qualities.
