The Goal of Gender Equality Work in Sweden
The goal of gender equality work in Sweden is for women and men to have equal power and opportunities to shape society and their own lives. This work encompasses issues such as influence, economy, health, education, work, and bodily integrity.
The Gender Equality Agency shall ensure the implementation of the government's gender equality policy by contributing to its effective execution. The agency's task is to coordinate, follow up, and provide support in various ways within the areas of gender equality. The Gender Equality Agency is an LGBTQI-strategic agency, which means that it must promote equal rights and opportunities for LGBTQI individuals in its operations.
In 2026, the Gender Equality Agency will conduct an agency-wide reorganization, which includes the formation of a management staff. The management staff will be responsible for agency-wide development issues, implementation of results, work towards clearer management, and improved support for agency-wide matters.
We are now seeking a Senior Advisor specializing in Labor Law for the management staff.
Job Responsibilities
You will have an advisory role to the Director-General and Deputy Director-General on agency-wide issues. You will play an active role in implementing the reorganization taking place in 2026 and serve as an expert support, primarily regarding labor law matters. The work also includes handling other HR-related tasks and processes, as well as collaboration issues and negotiations with labor organizations.
Qualifications
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
• University degree in law with a focus on labor law, personnel management/HR, or another equivalent education as assessed by the employer.
• Multiple years of experience working in the public sector.
• In-depth knowledge of labor law and collective agreements.
• Experience supporting management, leaders, and HR in complex labor law matters.
• Multiple years of experience supporting and driving strategic employer issues.
• Multiple years of experience in negotiation work and representing the employer in relation to labor unions.
• Extensive experience with consultative support and advisory work in a knowledge-intensive organization.
• Basic knowledge of Swedish gender equality policy.
We consider the following as meritorious:
• Work experience from another government agency.
• Knowledge of state collective agreements.

Employment Information
This is a specific fixed-term full-time position until June 19, 2026. Start date is January 5, 2026. The position is located at the Gender Equality Agency's office in central Gothenburg. Travel may be required.
