About the role
We are currently seeking, on behalf of our client, an experienced mechanical designer who wants to combine technical depth with the opportunity to take a step towards a leadership role. Our client is a high-tech company operating in areas such as medical technology, research, and industry.
In the role of mechanical designer, you will be a key person in the development team and will work on design for mass production. You will closely collaborate with colleagues in electronics, software, and production. This role is suitable for someone looking to move towards a team lead role – you will gradually be given the responsibility to coordinate work, support colleagues, and act as a mentor within the group.
We are looking for someone who has:
• 7–10 years of experience as a designer and/or calculation engineer
• Ability to design for mass production (DFA, DFM)
• Understanding of design related to electrical engineering/electronic cooling
• Experience with manufacturing techniques such as injection molding, die casting, thin sheet metal, welding assemblies, etc.
• Knowledge in simulation (thermal, CFD, strength) using COMSOL, ANSYS, Altair, or Nastran
• Broad material knowledge (metal, plastic, ceramics)
• Experience with machine and electrical safety as well as certification
Preferred:
• Experience with Autodesk Vault Professional, Inventor, and Sovelia PLM
• Experience with Infor LN and Visual Factory
• Previous experience in coordination or technical leadership

• This is initially a consultancy assignment through The Place, with good opportunities for extension or takeover by the client.
