About the Position The Swedish Armed Forces is experiencing significant growth – and to succeed in our tasks, we need to strengthen our expertise in the area of Geographic Information Services (GIS). This area is expanding and is currently in a development phase. The Swedish Armed Forces aims to develop both a geospatial infrastructure as part of ICT development and an enhanced organization to develop and manage geographic information services across and within the Armed Forces' ICT platforms. As an IT Specialist in GIS, you will have overall responsibility for the technical design, platforms, and system solutions within the area. You will formally take product and design responsibility for the technical solutions and systems that fall within your domain. In the Swedish Armed Forces, this position is referred to as Material System Leader (MSL). The MSL supports the early phases with requirement specifications aimed at ensuring the system is manageable and that the Swedish Armed Forces can take technical design responsibility once the system is handed over. You will: • Take product and design responsibility for technical solutions and platforms • Lead and manage operations and maintenance providers • Be responsible for design governance and operational and maintenance plans, both short and long-term • Monitor operations, quality, and financial outcomes • Contribute to the further development of working methods and processes in line with technological advancements REQUIREMENTS Qualifications • Master's degree in engineering or equivalent relevant technical post-secondary education • At least five years of experience in product and/or architecture areas • Strong knowledge in Systems Engineering, system development, system procurement, PLM, project management, and operations and management • Excellent communication skills in both Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing • Swedish citizenship • B driver's license Meritorious • Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) • High competence in IT infrastructure and system integration • Knowledge of information security requirements and associated processes • Experience with procurement according to LOU • Work experience from the Swedish Armed Forces or other governmental organizations • Certification or experience in agile methods, such as SAFe Personal Attributes You are a confident, analytical, and results-oriented individual with the ability to switch between the big picture and details.
