Senior Buyer Wanted for Exciting Opportunity in Gothenburg

Description Our client in Gothenburg is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer for their global Indirect Purchasing team. The role involves responsibility for driving both short-term and long-term sourcing strategies, identifying new suppliers and technologies, and developing existing supplier relationships. Initially, the focus will be on supporting the global Events department and the client's sales team in European markets by ensuring all event-related needs are managed professionally and efficiently in collaboration with business support and other stakeholders. Responsibilities As a Senior Buyer, you will perform sourcing of services purchased across the organization, with a particular focus on marketing and communication needs in Europe, including events, test drives, partnerships, and influencer collaborations. You will be responsible for conducting procurement according to defined strategies and frameworks, negotiating commercial and legal agreements, and creating service contracts. The role involves reviewing purchase requests, identifying and selecting suppliers in line with strategies and agreements, and providing support and advice to internal stakeholders throughout the procurement process. You will follow up on supplier performance and contract fulfillment, analyze the market to support sourcing activities, maintain good relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders, and conduct supplier evaluations and audits. You will prepare and present potential supplier lists, RFQs, negotiations, and business cases to management, and be responsible for onboarding suppliers, negotiating contracts, placing purchase orders, and following up on payments. Qualifications • Education in economics, purchasing, business administration, or equivalent. • At least five years of experience in indirect purchasing, preferably with a focus on marketing services procurement. • Strong negotiation skills and experience in establishing service agreements. • Excellent communication and social skills with the ability to quickly understand internal stakeholders' needs. • Service-oriented, flexible, and quick to adapt to new work processes and terminology. • Experienced in managing multiple projects and large amounts of data simultaneously in a structured manner. • Fluent English, both verbally and in writing; German or other European languages are advantageous. • Experience working in a global environment with people from diverse cultural backgrounds. • Very good MS Office skills, especially Excel; experience with procurement and administrative systems such as SRM, Fieldglass, or Workday is advantageous. Terms • Location: Gothenburg, on-site (no remote work). • Employment level: 100%. • Assignment period: January 5, 2026 – December 31, 2026, with possibility of extension.
