About this role
County Administrative Board is an expert authority in areas such as nature and environment, community development, and rural affairs, directly subordinate to the government. We function as a link between people, municipalities, regions, and various authorities. We work to ensure national goals are implemented in the county. We do this by focusing on the overall picture in our official capacity, by disseminating knowledge, and by coordinating and developing various issues. The Civil Protection and Preparedness Unit consists of eight employees and a unit manager.
The unit is responsible for developing crisis preparedness regionally and internally, civil defense, security protection, signal protection, tasks within the nuclear energy area, and risks in community planning.
Work Tasks
You will work broadly within the civil protection and preparedness area. The County Administrative Board conducts training, exercises, risk and vulnerability work, continuity planning, and civil defense planning.
We primarily want to strengthen the exercise and training activities with this position. The County Administrative Board drives regional issues with many stakeholders, and it is advantageous if you are more senior.
Signal protection may be included in the role. You will also be one of our on-call officials. The specific content of the position may be influenced by your background, recruitments, and new assignments.
Qualifications and Profile
We are looking for someone with:
- Academic education we consider relevant for the work, or
- Acquired relevant professional experience.
It is meritorious if you have:
- Experience from the County Administrative Board, especially exercise activities.
- Experience from municipal or state operations and within the areas listed in the job description.
- Experience with crisis preparedness work, preferably in the public sector.
- Good knowledge of the Swedish crisis management system.
- Experience working in emergency services or the Swedish Armed Forces.
As a person, you are responsible, analytical, attentive, and have good pedagogical skills and ease of collaboration. You should be able to express yourself well verbally and in writing. We highly value good collaboration skills and personal drive as we work in groups with clear goals. We place great importance on personal qualities, and a driver's license is a requirement for the position.
About the Position
The employment is permanent. A six-month probationary period may be applied. Desired start date is in January 2026, or by agreement.
All positions at the County Administrative Board may be subject to security screening and wartime placement depending on the assignment's design.
